The Drugs and Magic Remedies Act (Objectionable Advertisement) 1954 and The Rules 1955

These act and rules are intended to protect the consumer and prevent the practice of misleading and extravagant claims made in respect of many medicines and especially those claiming as remedies for many diseases considered at present as incurable


The Medicinal And Toilet Preparation (Excise Duties) Act 1955

It provides for the levy and collection of duty of excise on medicinal and toilet preparations containing alcohol, opium, Indian Hamp or other narcotic drugs.


Dangerous Drugs Act 1930 and rules 1957

This legislation relates to medicines containing opium, morphine, pathedine etc. which are considered addiction – forming dependence-producing drugs and regulates their manufacture, sales, possession etc.


Drug Prices (Display and Control) Order 1966

This order has been made in order to make drugs available to the general public at fair prices.
